Blissfully Unaware
There is some weird setting in my new PSCS2 on my new computer that makes the brush jump randomly… which is not fun for drawing, let me tell you. But I finished by midnight, so I win. Hopefully I will figure this thing out soon. :/
Anyway, Justin’s note for this one was:
“This is a script I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, since it actually happened. The Airforce had a CH-53 light up with an APU fire, and a couple of our senior Warrant Officers walked over to the scene while they were trying to put it out, and posed for a couple pictures with the fire behind them. They then walked away. The CH-53 burned to the ground.”

By the wording of the note, I assume that the real-life WOs were aware?

Naturally, they walked away. Nobody in his right mind would get into a CH-53 even if it *wasn’t* on fire.
Sheesh…

I have jumpy brush issue too, I think the wacoms don’t like stray EMI. regardles of hat program I am in.

According to a friend of mine (who shall remain nameless because he was a WO himself) the conventional wisdom was: “Warrant Officers: Too specialized for the Enlisted ranks, too special* to be Officers.”

One of the most dangerous things you will ever encounter in the Army… A Warrant Officer saying “Y’all watch this…”
September 7th, 2008 at 12:51 am
That is awesome on so many levels.

Haha, I love how you’ve got a big ass military fire truck, basically a truck built around a huge ass hose…and it’s not being used, but there’s enlisted guys running around with buckets of water. Totally military, gotta love it.

Have you ever noticed that almost every time a Warrant says that, it ends up in a safety video as a crash scene?

Durn RLOs filming with their cellphones ’stead of monitoring the ashtray like they’re s’posed to…

Wow….
Wait, let me go find that brick wall. I know it’s around here somewhere…
September 7th, 2008 at 7:07 pm
FYI….The air force has/had HH-53’s, not CH……
September 8th, 2008 at 7:05 am
They also have MH-53 which are a whole lot more expensive….
Of course a Marine Warrant Officer would have jumped on top the rotor head, unzipped his fly and put the fire out and empty his bladder all at the same time.

That kinda goes without saying, doesn’t it?
Well except they have buttons, not zippers… zippers make too much noise if you want to sneak up and pee on the enemy.
September 9th, 2008 at 3:12 am
Actually, flight suits usually have zippers instead of buttons…why I am advancing this discussion, I have no idea…
September 9th, 2008 at 9:43 am
Isn’t it just the one piece flight suit that has a long zipper down the front? I thought everything else had buttons.
September 9th, 2008 at 12:42 pm
Nope. A2CUs, and the old ABDUs had zippers as well. I can’t speak for the other services, but I’d assume they do the same.
September 9th, 2008 at 3:07 pm
Hey Bill, are you going to settle the whole zipper controversy or shall I do it for you? (C’mon, bat at the nice straight line …. you can’t resiiiiisst iiiiittt …)
September 9th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
Flight suits have zippers, mechanics’ coveralls have buttons.
As to the specific reason the one-piece flight suit uses a 27-inch zipper, I shall defer to BCR, who knows the canonical explanation I provided in 2003 — if she works up the nerve…

I have no nerves. I was gassed in the Somme, remember?
