Story

Lawn Darts is a webcomic based on the adventures of a group of US Army Aviation soldiers in the Middle East. Crossing the line between story and humor with reckless abandon, the creators take no responsibility for lack of continuity. It is, after all, free.

Purpose

I have stories I would like to tell. Not so much really for the audience base, or such as that. More so for me. I want to tell them, so they aren't forgotten, even if I'm the only one who really remembers. Some of these are stories of people I'm never going to see again. But they made a difference, they made me laugh, and they deserve to be remembered. - Justin

I get lots of email from Crowfeathers fans, most of which I respond to with one or two emails, and then I never speak to them again. I could have done the same with Justin, but for whatever reason I didn't want to stop talking to him, maybe because he was a soldier, and maybe just because he was so upbeat and intelligent. When he asked if I would be interested in drawing another webcomic, I turned him down at first and recommended another artist because I had another big project I was waiting on. However, fate stepped in, and the artist I had spoken to about this wasn't interested, and my big project fell through, so I changed my mind and agreed to do this. I decided I needed this, maybe as much as or more than Justin did, in order to work through some issues of my own related to the army and people I knew in service. Hence, I've brought some degree of realism and poignancy to Justin's more lighthearted scripts. I also wanted to make something that got it across to people that the military is not composed of faceless automotons. Soldiers are real people, with unique personalities, hopes and dreams, families, problems, and so on. Regardless of people's opinions on politics and the military, I would hope they at least remember that the military is populated by their fellow Americans, and those individuals are all someone's friend, son, daughter, brother, husband, father, wife, mother, etc. - Amy
